Karen Maloy attended college at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, and received an A.A. in Humanities degree in May 1983 at the age of 17. After a 14 year absence, she returned to school to complete a B.A. in Psychology from Syracuse University in December 2004.  While pursuing a M.S. in Adult Education from Buffalo State College specializing in Workplace Learning and Staff Developmentin 2009, Karen was ordained a Minister.  She obtained her Ed.S. in Education specializing in Teaching and Learning in May, 2011 from Liberty University.

Training Experiences include the following:

“Young Women’s Symposium” Presenter (2008-2010) A day-long career guidance and self-discovery workshop for 9th and 10th grade students giving the students the opportunity to learn first-hand about career opportunities and participating in workshops such as Communicating Effectively, Building Rapport, and Work Success Skills. Hosted by the Junior Achievement of CNY

"Success Strategies: Keys to Successful Living” (2008) A program designed to help individual clients to foster growth in their personal life by identifying areas for improvement, setting goals, developing timelines, and keeping track of progress.

“Foundations for Success” (2008). A program developed for women in the local YWCA residential center to foster success in their personal lives.

“Communication Strategies” (2008). A workshop developed for the Public Relations & Communication Team of Faith By Love Family Worship Church, to provide opportunities for members to build upon and perfect their communication skills.

“Speaking for a Change” (2007). A 2-session workshop developed for the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Professional Development Program, to instruct small business owners in how to develop presentations and provide them the tools they need for effective public speaking.

"Human Services Professions Training" (2010).  This curriculum was developed and taught for a welfare-to-work readiness program while working as an Adjunct Faculty for Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY.

Other experiences include co-facilitator of PWP Life Empowerment groups, Financial Advisory Board Member for both Faith By Love Family Worship Church and a local YWCA/Girls Inc., club and district level leadership for District #65 of Toastmasters International and Volunteer Pregnancy Counselor for Save-A_Life Pregnancy Center in Decatur, AL.  Currently Karen is involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Choose Life Pregnancy Center, and Christian Women's Job Corp.all in Huntsville, AL.
